I know the passion Riley has for her work. She is careful, patient, and purposeful. The final product is a portrait of you, but also a reflection of her. You would think this would put pressure on you, the subject, but it does the exact opposite. The mutual relationship is instant with Riley. Her success is your success; your beauty is her beauty. I came across an ad Riley had posted at Tom's coffee shop on South Congress. What immediately caught my attention was Riley herself, in the ad, looking so serene yet grounded in herself. I said to myself, "I want to feel THAT when I look at a photo of myself - or even when I look in the mirror! Riley's process of meeting for drinks, asking beautiful, honesty-inducing questions, then organizing a mood board AND helping me with my outfits and makeup made me feel so taken care of. I see myself in a new way, and these photos represented a right of passage for myself that Riley was fully committed to making a reality. Thank you Riley, and thank you Woke Beauty.

I met Riley four years ago while on assignment--I'm a photographer myself. I knew immediately when we met, that there was something very special about her. She has this aura she gives off that lets you know that no matter what it is she's taking on, she will succeed. Over the years, I've hired Riley to take portraits of me. These are photos I look at periodically when I've had a long day, or I can't remember the last time I felt pretty--gahh I love being a woman in the 21st century!--or I just need to remember what I look like without the weight of whatever the world has put on me that day. And I look at the photos Riley took of me. Because Riley has a way of capturing the best part of you in her photos. Your energy. Your spirit. The most authentic part of yourself that you can't really put it into words. Riley sees it somehow, gets you to drop your guard, and then captures that part of you in a photo. So if you're looking for someone to capture that side of you on any given occasion--make sure Riley's there. She'll capture you every time.

Having my photo taken isn't an entirely natural process for me -- the smiling on command, the making sure I don't have lipstick on my teeth, the looking at someone when a camera stands between you and them. But Riley's sensitivity to my discomfort -- even just talking about my discomfort -- quickly released the tension. She coaxed me into a place of ease. I smile when people see the photos and say, "You look so comfortable in front of the camera!" 'Cause the truth is, that comfort is a result of Woke Beauty's magic.

Riley is one of a kind. Coming from someone who likes to be on the other side of the camera, I am usually horribly awkward and uncomfortable when getting my picture taken. Riley made me feel comfortable, unique, special and valued. She is an expert at bringing out the light in a person, and I would recommend to anyone in the world who needs a photo of them at their brightest.

I thoroughly enjoyed my photo shoot experience. It was like spending time with a long lost friend, whose goal is to make you feel beautiful. I would absolutely do it again!

The first thing that stood out to me about this experience was how much careful work and thought Riley put into unrooting the essence of "me" before taking my picture. The questionnaire that she sent out before the shoot asked such thought provoking questions. They felt like the best questions to ask in order to understand who I am and how to best portray me so that I felt like the girl in those photos was exactly who I want to see when I look in the mirror. The mood board that she made using the information from the questionnaire was spot on with my aesthetic and helped me to feel inspired and got me super excited for the shoot. On the day that I worked with Riley I just had so much fun hanging out with her and telling her about all of my quirks and dreams and passions. I love how interested she was in everything to do with me and it made the whole experience a lot more personal and fun. During the shoot she made me feel comfortable in my own skin, with nothing but encouraging words and cheers and helpful tips on how to pose and what to visualize while I was posing. She placed such a huge emphasis on what I wanted to get out of the shoot and how I wanted to be seen which was very different from other experiences that I’ve had being photographed. All in all the experience was a 10/10 and I think that Riley is an incredibly talented, beautiful, and inspiring woman with some hella woke vision and that everyone should have the experience of seeing themselves through her lens!

If you want BEAUTIFUL photos that capture the absolute essence of you and your loved ones, Riley is your photographer! She is highly-trained, highly-successful, highly-everything...but also very personable, approachable and warm. She isn't there to just snap your photo and move on. She seeks to really connect with you and your loved ones and she seems to almost blend into the background and becomes a part of the scene. She is masterful at capturing the authenticity of her subjects. I am a complete amateur when it comes to photography, but her photos have a striking artistic edge to them that I just don't see with many photographers. Anyone can take your picture, but if you want photos with soul, choose Riley. If you want photos that cause your friends and family to take an extra pause, choose Riley. Not only is she brilliantly talented, she is also a wonderful person with deep passion for her work.
